Failure Doesn’t Really Matter

I sat and listened today as an entrepreneur told me about how he could not meet payroll. He and his partner had started a company and had gone for a year without taking salaries. Then, when they could afford to start hiring some people, they hit a cash flow crunch and had to stop paying them for awhile. Many people wondered why he would leave a good job to end up as such a failure. The funny thing is, that was several years ago. The guy who seemed to be, at that point in time, a failure, has an 8 figure net worth and is one of the biggest local startup success stories.

Failure has been on my mind a lot lately. It is one of those things that scares people to death. So many smart people with good ideas never make the leap to a startup because they are afraid of what will happen if they fail. Well, I have failed, and I can tell you what will happen… you will end up better off.

Failure is just a perspective. No one wins all the time. Failure is part of your path to success. Embrace it. Move on. And remember that it doesn’t really matter.
